Car trouble. 70 degree weather, 2 besties/2 kids 4 Bibles and a Yearbook = a GREAT DAY

Thelma and Louise , along with Emilee and Ashland were on the road again Dec 17th.

Whenever Mary and I  plan a road trip, it never goes exactly the way we plan. Mary had planned to pick me up at 7 am and so she did . But of course 45 minutes into our trip , her car decided that it wasn't taking us to NC. So what do Thelma and Louise do ... do we give up...never.... the easy thing to do would putter the car back home and just say "we will do this another day "

What we did do , is we puttered her car back to my house and stole my husbands truck , yeah , we are horrible, we took Marks truck and left him with a stranded car . Our day of thrifting and heirloom finds , was to continue.

Hardees for a quick stop for breakfast and we started back on the road again headed to Asheville NC. We found some great Goodwill stores, however we went into this one Goodwill and on one side , it was a sight we had never seen, there were all these blue rolling tables and people were scavenging through these table like there was a diamond to be found ...and there were no prices , you paid by the pound. So after standing there looking at each other as to a sight we had never seen what do we do , heck we join in . Mary Dale , found  I believe  a Bible and a 1968 yearbook out of Florida  that we have to find  the owners and I believe it cost her 2$

Headed to a few more Goodwills and then headed to Weaverville NC, where at this one I found two Bibles and , I do believe I have found the owners through Facebook, we are just awaiting confirmation so we can return these gems to their families.

Our one store to be able to go to and we were looking so forward to shopping through was Roses we had a sad realization when we went to pull into Roses in Weaverville to find out that Roses is no longer there but now a Publix. So Sad... but  what do you do when you are Thelma and Louise looking for a good find , you find another place and right next door was the most cutest  little Consignment Store  called the Cottage Door. I bet we spent an hour in there.  I found my husband and awesome local made bird house, Mary found a few sweet gems and the girls found things for their mothers.

Afterward, we stopped to get a coke Icee and headed back to Greenville Tn where we stopped at the Three Blind Mice Boutique ( which is going out of business) so if you are looking for those last few minute Christmas gifts we suggest you seek it out. its awesome.

Home at last and Mark has his truck back and Mary's car will have to go to the doctor Monday .

We will keep you informed , when we are able to return the Bibles and yearbook to their happy homes

Merry Christmas Ya'll.. xxoxoxoxoxo Thelma & Louise ) Karen and Mary Dale and Emmie Grace
